El Camino Real Forum believes the historic West Los Angeles Veterans Home must remain dedicated to its original purpose: serving and housing America’s veterans. Established through the 1888 deed of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, this land was intended to provide care, rehabilitation, and housing for those who served our nation.
We stand with veterans and advocates who seek accountability, transparency, and the proper use of veteran-dedicated resources. At a time when thousands of veterans continue to experience homelessness, we believe land intended for veterans should prioritize veterans first. Our organization supports efforts to preserve the Soldiers Home, expand veteran housing opportunities, and ensure that future generations of veterans receive the care and support they have earned through their service.
We will continue to educate the public, engage elected officials, and advocate for policies that honor both the letter and spirit of the original deed establishing the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.
A home for veterans should remain a home for veterans.
